Osteomalacia

Osteomalacia (also known as rickets).
It is a weak concentration of calcium and phosphorus within the bones and usually occurs due to a severe deficiency in vitamin D for long periods.
Vitamin D helps absorb calcium, phosphorus, and Their concentration in the bones. Vitamin D deficiency makes it difficult to maintain appropriate levels of calcium and phosphorus in the bones, which may lead to rickets. The most common cause of vitamin D deficiency is lack of sufficient exposure to the sun, which is the primary source of vitamin D formation within the body. It may also occur due to poor absorption and some hereditary diseases of the kidneys and liver.

Symptoms of osteomalacia include delayed motor development, muscle weakness, increased thickness of the wrist and joints, and may lead to bowed legs due to weak growth centers. Most cases can be treated with vitamin D and calcium supplements. Mild to moderate degrees of curvature can correct spontaneously with treatment as shown in the picture.
More severe degrees of curvature may require surgery.
